At Astréïa, when we put our flour mill at your disposal, we explain how to use it in the best possible way. As with all agricultural and farming equipment, we think it’s only natural to help you operate it so that you can benefit from all its advantages.

We are often asked why you should come to Astréïa to collect your precious stone-ground flour mill. Training remains the heart of this moment of sharing and transmission. This training lasts about 2 hours, depending on your practical questions.

In this article, we’ll explain how your training will work. After this flour mill driving workshop, we’ll load the mill into your vehicle together, ready to start a new chapter in your life!

Training based on your needs

Ideally, bring your cereals so that we can work on your needs and your work tool. Of course, we have grains at Astréïa, but we always prefer to be as close as possible to your daily routine.

The idea of this moment is to show you how to make the settings to obtain the flour you really want, from the grains you are going to work with.

Training in mill maintenance and cleaning

At Astréïa, we make your mill with our own hands. So we know it inside out, and during this training session we’ll take it apart together so that you can get to know it and appreciate how simple it is. It’s as simple as removing a few screws, and we’ll do it together around your mill. So you won’t be working on a demonstration mill, but on your own Astréïa mill.

If, for example, despite all your precautions when sorting and cleaning the grains, a foreign body remains in your grains and passes between the millstones or gets stuck, it will be vital that you feel able to help yourself independently.

Advice on basic hygiene

You’ll be selling flour from your mill, so we’ll be giving you all the information you need to do your job in a hygienic way. How to clean your mill, how to maintain it and how to keep it simple.

Training on mill settings

We’ll give you all the training you need to know about the 2 mill settings. Together, we’ll look at all the settings available on your mill, as well as the results of these settings on the outgoing flour.

We’ll make these settings together and you’ll be able to repeat them at home using the visual reference points installed on your mill.

You’ll also be able to validate your automatic systems perfectly: when the hopper is empty, for example, or on bagging when you choose this option. We will validate and operate each part of your mill, as well as the machine as a whole.

We finish our training on the regulatory aspects of milling.

This training is also a time for technical advice on organising your mill in your building, within your team, in your day-to-day work. It allows us to pass on to you what we know both technically and empirically, so that you can feel confident in your new chapter with your Astréïa Flour Mill.
