Extraction and bagging: what are they? 29 August 2024

Astréïa is a manufacturer of stone flour mills of the Moulin Astrié type. Our complete mill is sold with: the mill, the sieve, a shovel for manual extraction and a sieve.

Extraction and bagging: what are they?

This mill can be fitted with options such as: a transparent sieve front, 220V electricity, the colour of the mill frame (…) and, of course, the most popular options include :

  • automatic extraction
  • bagging.

What is extraction?

Extraction or ‘automatic extraction’ is an option you can add when you buy your Astrié mill. It consists of installing an endless screw at the bottom of the sieve. This auger mixes the flour at the bottom of the sieve and automatically extracts it from the sieve casing.

As a result, you don’t have to mix and extract your flour manually. Your flour comes out of your sifting machine automatically, without you having to intervene.

What is bagging?

Bagging or ‘bagging ramp’ is an option that you can add when you buy your stone-ground flour mill from Astréïa.

The bagging ramp is located after your sifting mill and allows you to put your flour directly into flour bags.

As a result, you don’t have to bag the flour manually. Your flour goes straight into the bags, and as soon as all the bags are full, the mill stops.

Why always combine ‘extraction with bagging’?

The bagging ramp is an option that is always coupled with extraction. If the aim is to keep the mill running while you’re busy with other tasks, the flour obviously needs to be extracted automatically from the sieve mill so that it can then be automatically bagged.

The flour is collected in the sifting mill, the automatic extraction system removes the flour from the sifting mill and finally the bagging ramp puts your flour into bags, all without any intervention!

What is the purpose of the ‘automatic extraction only’ option?

The most useful thing is to leave the mill running while you do something else.

What’s more, it allows you to mix your flour in the sieve box so that it’s perfectly homogeneous.

What is the purpose of the ‘extraction + bagging’ option?

Choosing this option for your Astrié type stone-ground flour mill means choosing to have your mill run while you’re doing something else. It also means saving time on recurring tasks to add value to the product (flour) or the processed product.

The biggest benefit today is letting the Astréïa mill run day and night to produce more and bag your flour, more efficiently and more quickly: even while you sleep!
