An Astrié flour mill quickly 30 August 2024

I remember looking so hard for ads like this when I wanted to buy an Astrié mill for my farm almost 10 years ago!

An Astrié flour mill quickly

Whether you’re a cereal grower, a baker, a farmer baker or a miller, the search for an Astrié mill is always a time-consuming process: production lead times, putting together a financing package, requesting quotes, making comparisons, meeting your Astrié mill manufacturer… so many stages I went through before embarking on the Astréia adventure (I tell you all about it here ‘Our life as an Astrié mill manufacturer’).

It’s also important to go through the ‘Differentiating between a cylinder, stone and Astrié flour mill’ stage. Still not sure? Read our full article ‘The differences between cylinder, stone and Astrié mills’.

At Astréïa, as a manufacturer of stone mills of the Moulin Astrié type, we offer for sale throughout the year a mill with a diameter of 50 cm and another mill with a diameter of 100 cm.

Do you need an Astrié mill quickly?

Our customers are often looking for a second-hand Astrié mill to get a faster mill. Is this the case for you? Do you need your mill to arrive quickly so that you can add value to your cereal or process a higher quality raw material? Contact us quickly to discuss your project and timescale. Since 2023, we have been manufacturing your mill in less than 3 months.

Do you need advice on how to install an Astrié mill in your home?

Investing in an Astréïa mill also means reorganising your work and tasks. As the Astréïa mill can be fed continuously, it can work while you are busy with other tasks. In this case, you’ll need to make sure that the hopper is positioned so that it collects the seeds from the top or from one side. Your Astréia mill can even extract the flour automatically and bag your flour for you. A sensor stops the mill as soon as the hopper is empty.

More and more customers are looking to make gluten-free flour. Is this the case for you? Would you like to know how to make gluten-free flour in your Astrié mill? We’ve written a full article here.

At Astréïa, we’ll work with you to assess your installation and your grinding objectives, and suggest the most suitable layout to get the most out of your stone mill.

Are you wondering what you need to check before buying an Astrié mill?

Here’s a checklist of things to look out for before making your purchase

  • how many kilos of flour do you need per week?
  • what type of grain do you want to grind?
  • What results do you expect?
  • Is using French materials important to you?
  • Is knowing your craftsman a key factor in your mill project?
  • Is receiving advice before you buy important to you?
  • Will automatic bagging save you time?
  • Will the fact that your customers can see the flour falling into the sieve set you apart from the competition?
  • Will the fact that your customers can see the mill and the grinder grinding each grain guarantee the success of your project?
  • Is there anything special about your electrical installation in the premises you occupy?
  • Does it reassure you that your manufacturer uses the mill on a daily basis on his own farm?

In a recent article we talked about the ‘6 questions to ask yourself before buying an Astrié mill’.

How to choose your Astrié mill manufacturer?

As a manufacturer of stone mills, Astréia advises you to check the following points:

  • total respect for the Astrié brothers’ invention (micrometric adjustment, grinding wheels made of Sidobre granite, etc.)
  • the guarantee
  • respect for craftsmanship
  • the availability of our contacts
  • quality and speed of after-sales service
  • compliance with electrical standards
  • compliance with food, hygiene and safety standards
  • actual performance on a customer’s premises
  • customer satisfaction
  • the opportunity to come and see a mill in operation (on site or at one of the Astrié mill manufacturer’s customers)
  • lead times
  • your manufacturer’s commitment to society

If this isn’t clear to you, we’ve written an article entitled: ‘The difference between a stone mill and an Astrié mill’.

About your manufacturer’s commitment…

Equipping yourself with an Astrié stone mill is a real turning point, a societal responsibility: eat better, consume better, make the most of a local cereal, get back to basics…

It goes without saying that this must also be accompanied by a consistent entrepreneurial spirit on the part of your stone mill manufacturer.

Above and beyond the manufacture of the stone mill, what we are passionate about at Astréia is working with farmers to help them become self-sufficient once again and eat as healthily as possible.
